Polar Semiconductor and Nexperia Partner on Power MOSFET Manufacturing

Polar Semiconductor and Nexperia have announced a strategic collaboration to manufacture next-generation power MOSFET devices at Polar Semiconductor’s U.S.-based wafer foundry.

The partnership is aimed at expanding Nexperia’s power MOSFET portfolio while strengthening supply for customers across AI server infrastructure, robotics, industrial systems, and automotive applications.

Focus on U.S.-Based Power Semiconductor Supply

Polar Semiconductor operates a high-volume wafer manufacturing facility in Minnesota and brings decades of experience in power semiconductor processes. The company also has a long history in automotive production and is IATF 16949 certified, supporting manufacturing standards for the automotive sector.

Under the collaboration, Nexperia will develop a broader portfolio of next-generation power MOSFETs across multiple voltage classes and package types. The devices are designed to help customers balance switching performance, robustness, and thermal efficiency in demanding power electronics applications.

The partnership also supports Nexperia’s longer-term manufacturing and supply-chain strategy by securing additional reliable capacity through a U.S.-based foundry partner.

Nexperia said its MOSFET technology and packaging platforms, including LFPAK, CCPAK, and MLPAK, are built to improve electrical performance and durability across power-intensive applications.

The collaboration comes as demand for power semiconductors rises across AI infrastructure, electrified vehicles, industrial automation, and robotics. For both companies, the deal strengthens their position in a market where supply resilience, reliability, and advanced power-device manufacturing are becoming increasingly important.
