F5 introduces Workforce AI Security to help enterprises govern employee AI use and agent actions.
F5 has announced the upcoming availability of F5 Workforce AI Security, a new agentless offering within its AI Security Platform.
The product is designed to help organizations gain visibility and policy control over how employees use AI tools and how AI agents act on their behalf.
F5 said enterprise AI use has moved beyond basic prompts. Employees are increasingly using assistants and coding agents that can access systems, call tools, manipulate data and perform tasks using user-granted permissions.
That creates a new security problem: AI agents can act with borrowed authority. Security teams need to govern not only which AI services employees use, but also what those systems are allowed to do.
F5 Workforce AI Security is expected to discover AI services used across browsers and developer tools, apply controls by service or license tier, and manage policies around file uploads and sensitive data.
The offering will also attribute AI interactions to users and agents, capture intent and risk context, and inspect tool calls across MCP servers and supported agent tools before actions run.
F5 said policies can be enforced across browsers, command-line interfaces, coding agents, MCP clients and agent harnesses without requiring another endpoint client.
The launch extends the F5 AI Security Platform, introduced in June 2026, and builds on AI Gateway capabilities added in August.
For enterprises, the release reflects a broader shift in AI security. As workforce AI becomes more autonomous, governance must move closer to where prompts, responses, tools and permissions actually interact.
