Meta launches Meta Enterprise Platform, a new AI business unit led by former MongoDB CEO Chirantan Desai.
Meta has launched Meta Enterprise Platform, a new business unit focused on bringing its artificial intelligence products and services to enterprise customers.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg described the platform as the “next major pillar” of the company’s business, saying it will help companies use AI to grow and transform.
The new unit will be led by Chirantan “CJ” Desai, who joins Meta as Chief Enterprise Platform Officer and will report directly to Zuckerberg.
Desai most recently served as president and CEO of MongoDB. He has also held senior leadership roles at Cloudflare and ServiceNow, with experience across AI, infrastructure, business applications and security.
Meta said the Enterprise Platform will focus on turning its AI stack into products and services that companies can deploy in their own businesses.
The launch expands Meta’s AI strategy beyond consumer-facing assistants, social platforms and advertising tools. It puts the company more directly into competition with enterprise AI providers such as Microsoft, Google, OpenAI and Anthropic.
For Meta, the move is also about monetizing its AI investments. The company has been building models, agents, infrastructure and business-facing tools, and the new platform gives those capabilities a clearer commercial route.
For enterprises, the launch signals another major AI vendor entering the market with a full-stack pitch: models, agents, infrastructure and customer-facing business tools under one platform.
