SAP launches Autonomous Enterprise to help businesses deploy AI agents across workflows with governance and control.
SAP has introduced a new initiative aimed at helping businesses integrate AI agents into core operations, as enterprise adoption of agentic AI accelerates.
The “Autonomous Enterprise” program centers on a unified platform and a set of tools designed to automate end-to-end business processes across functions such as finance, operations, and supply chain. The rollout includes the SAP Business AI Platform, which combines SAP’s data, analytics, and AI capabilities into a single governed environment.
At the core of the platform is the SAP Knowledge Graph, which maps business entities, processes, and relationships to provide AI agents with structured context. SAP said this approach is intended to ensure that AI-driven actions remain accurate, compliant, and aligned with enterprise governance requirements.
The company is also expanding its ecosystem through partnerships with firms including Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, and NVIDIA, enabling broader integration of AI capabilities across enterprise environments.
The launch comes as agentic AI moves from experimental use to operational deployment. Unlike earlier AI tools focused on decision support, agent-based systems are increasingly being used to execute tasks directly within business workflows.
Industry analysts note that this shift places greater emphasis on governance frameworks that define what AI agents can access, how they operate, and when human oversight is required.
SAP said its approach is designed to balance automation with control, positioning AI agents as part of structured enterprise processes rather than standalone tools.
